We were excited to be offered a soft landscaping job by Sharp Architects at the end of 2018. This project involved a Grade II Listed Georgian Country House in Hertfordshire, around which, terracing looks down onto their grounds and lake below. During a complete renovation of the 19-acre grounds, Lyndon implemented complex and abstract landscaping, involving over 130 species of plants.
Our scope was to prepare the beds for planting - this included breaking up soil to 300ml, filling with loam, incorporating sharp sand and pea gravel and mulching once planted. The plan then included planting up pleached hornbeams, constructing a fruit-cage, corten steel terracing, planting mature shrubs and trees and anchoring them down to make them rabbit and deer proof.
The project had to be carried out with intricacy where each of the plants, including bushes, shrubs and wall climbers had a specifically intentioned position designed to compliment both the historic and modernised features of the property. It was completed in May 2019.
